Garmin Forerunner 10 GPS Watch

Questions and Answers

Which GPS watch should I get?I am picking up my boyfriend’s Christmas present tomorrow, but I am stuck between two GPS watches and I don’t know which one he would like more. The two watches are the Nike+ Sportwatch GPS and the Garmin Forerunner 10. I have a Forerunner 10 and I absolutely love it! But I don’t know if he would want the same one as mine or the Nike+ (he mentioned that he liked both the Garmin and the Nike). What do you think??

GPS FR10: Http://www.runningwarehouse.com/descpage…

The Garmin is cheaper so that helps, but either way I’m still stuck. P.S. The Garmin is powered by (duh) Garmin and the Nike+ is powered by TomTom. Also, my boyfriend is a XC and Track runner and in Track (since XC is over) he runs shorter distances, like the 400m and 800m.

Thank you!

Running watch question?I am a 40 mile a week runner who recently bought a SOLEUS running watch. I purchased it cause it supposedly gives, chrono and, pace. I do not like the fact that it takes over 15 minutes in just one spot to get the gps to work. Most of the time, the watch gives off inaccurate figures or just stops. I am sick of SOLEUS and am ready for the Garmin. (cadillac of training watches). Which model is perfect for the heart rate monitor, speed, pace, chrono etc? I am also technology challenged and need a model with minimal setup hassle. Thanks.

AdminJanuary 19, 2014 at 6:35 PMI have an old (10 years?) Garmin Forerunner. It doesn’t do heart rate but does pace and mileage. It works well and is easy and I’ve used it a long long time. Try a Garmin product, even older ones like on craigslist or ebay should be fine.

Running Watch or Jawbone?I’m interested in getting a watch/band for running. I mainly want it to track my distance and pace. I’ve narrowed it down to the UP JawBone or one of the Garmin GPS watches. Which do you think is better, IK the Jawbone has a bunch other cool features so I’m favoring the Jawbone right now. Also, I’ve heard the Jawbone can break very easily which is a little bit of concern. I have an andriod for the Jawbone.

AdminJuly 22, 2013 at 11:37 PMI personally have a GPS Garmin Forerunner 10 and I absolutely love it. If you want distance and pace, then the FR10 has both of that and has a great system to upload your runs to online (Garmin Connect). The Forerunner 10 is also one of the cheapest GPS watches on the market, about 100 dollars. And on the issue of the Jawbone breaking easily, the FR 10 is waterproof and can take a lot of beating. Obviously, I’m rooting for the FR10, but I hope you choose whichever one you like more! 🙂

Hope this helps!
